Allied Irish Banks front-of-house teller desktop upgrade project was approaching a successful close when it it became evident that a looming skills shortage may affect the long term future of the platform.
Canonical reached out to the team here at i-Layer to provide on-site support and ongoing consultancy to AIB.
Managing 7,500 geographically dispersed machines
Placing a senior consultant into the bank's Dublin headquarters enabled us to commence knowledge transfer, which in turn allowed us to rapidly commence service delivery prior to the transfer of key internal staff.
Liaising directly with project managers, departmental stakeholders and senior Canonical engineers we coordinated multi-party communications and solution documentation.
As the deployment part of the project drew to a close we were able to propose a support solution, which AIB accepted - and throughout the lifetime of the platform we continued to add further value by providing customised auditing procedures that enabled the randomised audit of any of the some 7,500 machines that were under our management.
